Janet A. Pioli’s legal practice is focused on strategic counseling for extensive patent portfolios, patent clearance and due diligence, supervision of patent prosecution, inter partes review proceedings, and advertising review and clearance. She maintains a robust appellate practice, regularly appearing before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, where she delivered numerous oral arguments.
Her work spans a wide range of technologies, including medical devices, diagnostic systems, food and beverage products, packaging, navigation technologies, personal care items, industrial pumps, ice makers, pool and copier chemicals, loudspeaker systems, health supplements, and heavy truck transmissions.
She has served on the Board of Visitors at Northern Illinois University College of Law, held officer positions in various organizations including the Richard Linn American Inn of Court, and was a past president of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago.
