Intellectual property and corporate litigation firm AddyHart P.C. is pleased to announce that its co-founder Meredith Martin Addy has been named to the 2020 edition of Managing IP‘s Top 250 Women in Intellectual Property, a publication recognizing senior female IP practitioners in private practice who have performed exceptionally for their clients and firms in the past year.
“I am extremely pleased to again have been recognized by Managing IP and IP STARS as one of the Top 250 Women in IP,” noted Addy, on learning of her appointment to the list. “I join a cadre of highly accomplished women lawyers around the world, all of whom have enviable achievements, and it’s an honor to be included.”
Addy co-founded AddyHart P.C. in January 2019 with long-time colleague Robert P. Hart. Addy has handled more than 50 cases in US district courts and more than 60 appeals to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She has held leadership positions at several AmLaw 100 law firms and has testified to the US Congress on the state of patent law and the Federal Circuit. She has received multiple accolades, including from IP Stars and the Top 250 Women in IP from Managing IP, along with many others including being the only female attorney named to Band 1 for IP Law in Illinois by Chambers USA.
Addy further notes, “This honor from Managing IP is rightly due to the exemplary work of our newly established firm and my colleagues at AddyHart.”
During 2019, AddyHart experienced notable successes, including winning an important dismissal of an inter partes review at the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) on behalf of a patentee, representing a regional restaurant chain in a trademark infringement case against an international fast-food giant and its contracted delivery services companies, helping one of the world’s largest aeronautical engineering firms handle complex patent litigation at the Court of Federal Claims, arguing for one of the world’s leading audio manufacturers in a case at the Federal Circuit and assisting a global pharmaceutical manufacturer in litigation related to breach of contract.
AddyHart P.C. specializes in complex litigation from discovery and claim construction to settlement or trial and appeal. The firm serves the varying needs of a range of clients, including in IP litigation and corporate and civil litigation, and provides counsel on IP law, entertainment law, and corporate law. In February, the firm welcomed IP attorney Benjamin Cappel as Counsel. In late May the firm was joined by veteran IP attorney Charles A. “Chad” Pannell III, who joined as a partner.
