AddyHart partner Brandon Theiss recently represented Intellectual Ventures II LLC in two proceedings brought by Tesla before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
The PTAB rejected Tesla’s attempt to invalidate all eight challenged claims of one patent and allowed nine challenged claims of a second patent to remain in place. Although the Board found five additional claims of the second patent invalid as obvious, the decisions preserved the majority of the patent claims challenged by Tesla.
The patents involve image recognition and digital camera technology and are also part of ongoing federal litigation involving Tesla vehicles. Brandon served as outside counsel for Intellectual Ventures in the PTAB proceedings.
